CONSERVATIVE POLICY FORUM
CPF Session One: Friday 11th January 2019
The St. Ives Constituency Conservative Association are proud to relaunch the first of our CPF Sessions – this is an opportunity for members and friends with a keen political interest to engage in local and national Party policy making. The CPF is a chance to get together and discuss ideas that you believe could help shape the future for the better.
As our Prime Minister, The Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP, says; “The CPF plays a key role in ensuring that Party members have the opportunity to help shape Government Policy. We need to make the most of all the talent that exists within our Party, and harness our members’ enthusiasm.”
The theme for the CPF Session on the 11th is “GLOBAL BRITAIN” – this could include points from Globalisation, to Brexit and the future, but we will be discussing the question; “In many ways, one positive aspect of the British Empire was its global focus. Britain looked outwards, and our society benefited from the diversity of a Commonwealth of cultures. Whilst the EU had many benefits, it did make us more inward looking. After Brexit we will have to become once again a Global Britain, but what does that look like in today’s world and how can we achieve it?”
If you can’t attend the discussion, but would like your views considered anyway, please email the Association by Thursday the 10th to ensure they can be collated in time.
Thank you for your support - We hope to see as many of you as possible on the 11th, at Derek Thomas MP’s Constituency Office, 2nd Floor Wharfside, Penzance – at 5pm!
Please get in touch to let us know whether or not you can make it on the 11th - and please note that if you can't make it, you can email us your views for consideration at the meeting too!
