Caring for our environment has always been important to people living in rural Cornwall.  Our farmers play a central role in caring for the countryside and sustaining our economy.  Under Labour it has become increasingly difficult to exist in an industry that struggles to compete with other European producers.

Conservatives believe that farmers deserve a fair price for their produce and more must be done to reduce bureaucracy and attract fresh blood into this vital industry.

Young people face significant barriers when they leave mainstream education.  In this constituency two hundred and fifty 16 to 18 year olds find themselves out of educatiom. employment or training.

Conservatives will do more to remove the barriers facing these young people by improving access to training, education and employment.

Fairer funding for education in Cornwall is needed to safeguard our small rural schools which play a vital role in keeping our rural communities healthy and safe.
